II. The Resurrection

"The Angel spoke and said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you seek Jesus, Who was crucified. He is not here, for He has risen even as He said. Come and see the place where the Lord was laid." (Matt. 28:5)

"When the women were struck with fear and bowed their faces to the ground, the Angels said to them, 'Why do you seek the living One among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was yet in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise?'" (Luke 24:5-7)

To the Apostles also He showed Himself alive after His Passion by many proofs, during forty days appearing to them and speaking of the Kingdom of God. (Acts 1:3)

"For I delivered to you, first of all, what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day, according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, and after that to the Eleven. Then He was seen by more than five hundred brethren at one time, many of whom are with us still, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then by all the Apostles. And last of all, as by one born out of due time, He was seen also by me. (1 Cor. 15:3-8)
